Top Attractions

Blue Hole Mineral Spring.

Located about 20 minutes from Negril near the community of Little Bay, the Blue Hole is a mineral spring and swimming pool. You can jump 22 feet off the cliff into the hole or climb down a ladder to swim and bathe in the icy water. Mud around the water’s edge is said to be good for your skin, and the water itself is reputed to have therapeutic properties. For those who cannot jump or climb down into the hole, water has been pumped up into a swimming pool on the surface. A bar, a grill, cabanas, and a volleyball court add to the attractions. Take a chartered taxi from Negril, or call to organize a pickup. | Brighton | Negril | www.blueholejamaica.ning.com.

FAMILY | Kool Runnings Adventure Park.

Billing itself as the place where “Jamaica Comes to Play,” this park has 10 waterslides and a ¼-mile lazy-river float ride, as well as a go-cart track and kayaking. The park’s adventure zone features outdoor laser combat games and “Jamboo” rafting, which allows the family to take to the water on floating bamboo. There is also bungee jumping, a “kool kanoe” adventure, a wave pool, and paintball. Admission prices vary according to age and area, but with the “All For One Plan,” you can have access to both the waterpark and funzone for one rate. The park opens for the year only after Jamaica’s Labor Day, in May. | Norman Manley Blvd. | Negril | 876/957–5400 | www.koolrunnings.com | $33, general admission. $75 for the All For One Plan | Labor Day (May)–early Sept., daily 11–5:30.
